In 2023, a first €2 commemorative coin will be minted to mark the 175^th anniversary of the 1848 Constitution and the Chamber of Deputies. The primary task of the Chamber of Deputies is to legislate.
Its other essential functions are to control the Government by various means (questions, interpellations, etc.) and to guide the political debate. It makes certain appointments to specific posts. It
also intervenes in the decision-making process at European level.
