On 1 January 2023, Croatia joined the Eurozone as its 20^th member. At the same time, Croatia also joined the European area without border controls, known as the Schengen area. Croatia thus became the 27^th Member State of this area of free movement of people in Europe. On this occasion, the BCL will issue a set of Croatian euro coins.
