The “Deiwelselter”, built on a dolmen dating back some 4,000 years, bears witness to the long history of the region. It was originally used as a tomb, as evidenced by the remains of two human skeletons found on the site. In 1892, this incredible edifice was rebuilt from massive stones found on the site, becoming an emblematic symbol of Diekirch.

Our 2024 gold coin pays tribute to this historic treasure, with a depiction of the “Deiwelselter” adorning its obverse.
