In 2024, the Banque Centrale du Luxembourg will issue a € 2 commemorative coin to mark the 100^th anniversary of the grand ducal decree on the issue of the “Feierstëppler”. The “Feierstëppler”, the emblem of Luxembourg coins since 1924, symbolises the importance of the steel industry in the country’s history. This icon circulated for 67 years, under various denominations in Luxembourg francs, before serving as the inspiration for a sculpture on display in front of the Banque centrale du Luxembourg.
